The call came in on ID as Wellcare 978-622-0589 (Massachusetts) - they claim they need to speak to you about your prescriptions. They asked that you call them back at 1-877-612-8332 between the hours of 8 to 8 eastern time Monday through Sunday. They left a voice mail with the above info and they did have use my name in the voicemail. I placed a call to Wellcare to see if there was a problem and they did not have a record of anyone calling me and said neither of those numbers are associated with their company.

I called the number on my Wellcare card - because dialing the 877 number is an automated system requesting a date of birth. I disconnected the call without responding and continue to get automated calls and texts. When I called the Wellcare number on my member card, was advised neither numbers are associated with them nor are the texts also giving the 977 number and requesting a call.

I, too, confirmed directly with Wellcare that this is a legitimate phone number. As previously written, it's to remind you to take your medications as directed. Some people don't do that to their detriment, so the reminder might not be pertinent to most of us, but to some people it may be.

I've received that same call twice, from 1-978-622-0589, asking me to call 1-877-612-8332, about my prescription. I went on to the Wellcare website, logged into my account, and started a live chat with an offical Wellcare rep. He told me that the calls are coming from a 3rd party company, who is working with Wellcare. They call you to talk about the importance of taking your medications on time. (Well Duh..) So it's NOT a scam, but we should all be leery of these kind of calls !! Also, you don't know me, so you shouldn't trust me either... If you are a Wellcare member, log in to your Wellcare account, start a chat session, and confirm what I just said. Or call the number on your membership card.

Multiple reports of scam calls from 978-622-0589 from Billerica, MA purporting to be from Wellcare. This is a PHISHING SCAM targeting vulnerable seniors. These scammers are calling you by name and spoofing Wellcare to get information out of you for fraud and ID theft purposes!! Those who return the call are asked to provide birth date, phone number, and Wellcare ID# “for verification purposes.” The scammers also try to get you to say “yes.” Never, ever respond “yes” to an unknown caller!! The Robo voice message left on your phone says: “Hello. This is Wellcare calling for (your name). We have some important information about your prescription. Please return our call at 1-877-612-8332. TTY users should call 711. We are available Sunday through Monday 8:00 am t0 8:00 pm Eastern Time.” Wellcare would never call you. And if there’s a legitimate problem with your prescription, your pharmacist will tell you. Again, DO NOT ANSWER OR RESPOND. BLOCK THIS CALLER. THIS IS A SCAM TARGETING SENIORS.

Recorded voice identifies as itself as Wellcare, then asks you if it's your name, then asks if it may proceed, then asks your birthday. Before giving birthday, I became suspicious and hung up. I then looked number up, found it to be a robocall, and blocked the caller.

WellCare said it was indeed one of their “IVR Outreach” programs to remind folks to make sure they continue taking there meds as per their doctor’s instructions. They also said it was to offer other helpful health tips.

I received a legitimate message from this number- the message was from Wellcare and showed as WELLCARE on the caller ID. An alternate phone # was left for me to return the call regarding a change in my prescription. I spoke with a Wellcare representative. (NOT SPAM.)

Got a voicemail saying they were WellCare Insurance and to call back at 877-612-8332 for information about my account. I called WellCare directly on their known number and they said they had not called, and that number is not know to them. Scam likely.

A robocall from 978-622-0589 claimed to represent our insurer. It left a voice mail asking us to call 877-612-8332 about a recent prescription. I called our insurer via their customer service number and asked them if these were valid numbers. They are not. This appears to be a scam.
