got a voice message from this number, claiming it was the sheriffs department and they found a medication in my name and I was to text the number not call it and they would call me back. I knew this was a scam as I do not live in NJ and don't have any medications, I called the police department and was told it is a scam.

They called me once, I called them back and was met with "there doesn't appear to be an officer that called you on this line." So I waited, and within 15 minutes they called me again. This time I answered, and a busy call centre was what I overheard. Some guy, supposedly working with the township, was talking about a banquet offer and if I wanted to attend. I didn't stay on the phone long enough (I ended up getting another call) to see if it was legit or if he was asking me to donate money.
