They called and claimed that Capital One, the big corporation for banking is taking me to small claims court for a credit card that was on my credit report. After calling Capital One, I found that they do not handle their claims in that manner. They have their own internal team that calls from Capital One direct with legitimate 800 numbers and nothing local with an area code. This company wants to use scare tactics in making you sign their documents that they email you from an unknown sender. The document looks like a 5th grader using MS Word created it and wants to use an electronic signature capture to take your money each month. If you get this type of call, let them know how much of a joke they are and hang up right after.
