I called Sutter Patient Registration and they said this is a scam. A) If Sutter had called, it would have been noted on my record. B) I have phone notifications turned off on my records, so they wouldn't have called. FYI: Sutter was hacked in 2024 (Google it) so be extra careful. I blocked the number because they've called three times in two days.

Two calls in the last two days. Wondering how they know my History

This is a scam call. It is NOT Sutter Health. Do not return call or give them any information.

This is Sutter Health calling to remind about an appt and complete the pre-registration. Not a scam.

IMO, this was not a Scam call. I do have an appt. tomorrow for a, "Nuclear Scan," and yes strangely so the incoming call, told me to call a # back to complete registration and insurance verification, but was the same # that called in(??). Anyway the REP had all the info and I was not asked for a thing. And he palced me on hold as he called my insurance provider, which he knew that also, to confirm my benefit & coverage. At the end he let me know what my financial responsibility may be, just a small co-pay, asking me how I planned to pay. I told him will want to be billed or will pay by credit card at the time I check in. He never asked or pushed for any credit card info. So still IMO, was a legit call.

I just got off a call and still am not really sure if it was legit or not. I recently scheduled an appt and they started calling me a couple of days later. I missed the call a few times but saw the voicemail transcription and understood the nature of the call. Just called them back - ngl the guy who called did sound a little sketchy and definitely sounded like a call center in the back. He asked for basic name, DOB, email and address information and was going to draw the line if they asked for anything that was more sensitive/private (e.g. social security #, payment info, etc.). However, the rest of the info (appointment day & time, appointment type, insurance, doctor's name, emergency contact, etc.) he wanted to confirm was stuff he already had. They didn't ask me for insurance policy # or anything, but they did read my benefits and broke down the costs of the appointment and my copay responsibilities. Unless Sutter Health got hacked, I am not sure how he could've gotten all this information, especially the appointment details since I just made the appt a few days ago. I don't know - maybe it's legit or maybe scammers are just super good these days and have access to medical records? If the latter is the case, then Sutter Health will need to be investigated because clearly their appointment system is vulnerable.

The number is legit but the phone call and process is really odd. You are called by this number and even if you answer, are met by an automated message telling you to call back that same number. After selecting what type of procedure you are getting, you are then connected with a real person at Sutter Health to confirm all your account details prior to your procedure. They should really consider changing this process to something less sketchy.

This is a valid number utilized by Sutter Health to complete Pre-Registration for upcoming appointments.

This is legit. Call came about one week and a day in advance of an appointment. I only provided phone number, name, and birthdate, and they were able to list off appointment date, home address, family members and contact info, health insurance info, etc. They gave me way more information than I provided to them... seems real enough.

Total scam, claimed to be Sutter health pre registration. I contacted Sutter at normal number and they let me know it wasn’t them calling.

It's legit, I called Sutter Health's main number and they confirmed it. I only gave my name and DOB then they read all the information for me to just confirm

No no no. Total scam! Sutter doesn’t do check in or verify insurance this way. They hide behind the HIPAA rules to get you to tell them your name and birthdate and get your insurance info. We pay so much for medical expenses because of fraud like this.

This is a legitimate number. It looks like it is being autogenerated by their phone system, so caller ID does not automatically identify it. I do have an upcoming surgery and they needed to verify my insurance info.

They wanted me to call back to verify medical insurance coverage to an upcoming appointment. Sutter has never done that. They ask you to verify insurance on line or upon arrival for appointment. This sounds like a phishing exercise. My advice: Do not call back. Do not give them your medical insurance information this way.

It's Sutter Health pre registration; I called the number back and it's legit; They call to confirm information from you for your upcoming appointment like health insurance, status, etc;

I got a call exactly like this over an hour ago from when I am/was posting this comment (4/12/2024). What's unfortunate is that Sutter Health is a legitimate medical insurance group in California (not sure if they're in other states or not). The automated/AI "caller" stated the same thing, that it wanted to confirm my health insurance prior to my telehealth session. Which, of course, I've never had to do before! But whomever is doing this kind of phishing is very clever. Honestly, I don't think it would be wise to call the phone number back, but this phone call is very convincing.

I confirmed this phone number is Sutter Health to collect insurance information for their infusion centers.

I received a voicemail from this number with AI message from "Sutter Health" wanting to confirm my health insurance. Usually from Sutter I received calls from real live people, so I am suspicious. I am having surgery soon, so I won't 100% write it off, but they have all my insurance information already as I have had an ongoing health issue for months now. I'll call them on their normal number to see if it was from them or not.
