It appears to have been a legit inquiry but for someone who had my phone number before me many years ago. Call UCB from the number on their site, give them only the phone number they called. They will confirm who they are trying to reach. Let them know it isn’t you and they won’t call again.

I have excellent credit, always pay my bills on time. I have received zero delinquent bills nor letters concerning a debt owed from anyone. Received a voicemail at 7:37 am EST (too early to be calling) that I did not answer. An AI-like voice left a voicemail claiming to be a debt collector and to call back at this number. I did. It had a recording and phone tree that seemed to be United Collection Bureau UCB. I pressed a number to speak to a rep. She asked for my name and phone number. After confirming my identity, she asked me for my DOB. I refused to give her any information over the phone until she could tell me the creditor claiming I owed them money. She refused. I then said to mail me the notice because there are so many scams out there. She said that they did already. I truthfully said I have received nothing of the sort, and that I do not believe her. She began getting very rude and talking over me. I told her to send me the notice again and I would take care of it via mail only. She said she couldn't send me another notice without my date of birth. I told her that was total BS, I was not giving her anymore info, and she told me to have a nice day in a sarcastic tone and ended call. I have nothing on my credit score showing a collection has been placed. Pretty positive this was a scam.
