My mother received a call from a man claiming he was from Discover card. He told my mother there was fraudulent bitcoin transactions on her account and it would be frozen. Normally my mother is pretty sharp but right before this call her Discover card had been declined for a purchase on Amazon and she thought that this was why. He proceed to convince her to install anydesk on her phone and tablet. A few minutes later I walked in and used the bathroom and heard her speaking on the phone. I walked in to the room to asked her who was on the phone. When she told me I immediately took her phone and looked at the phone number abd compared it to her discover card. I realized she was on woth scammers and asked her if she downloaded anything. I immediately disconnected her tablet from wifi and while I was uninstalling anydesk from her phone 999$ was sent out from her cash app account. I immediately sent the rest of the money in her cash app account to her bank account but the damage was done. Somehow these scammers knew my mother's Discover card had been declined and used that to trick her. They where in the process of trying to steal the rest of her money from cash app before I disconnected anydesk.

I clicked a link in a legitimate email from State Farm to view my bill. The link led to as page that had the State Farm logo and a text window for "email" and "phone number". No password. Seems weird now but I didn't think about it and as soon as I entered the phone and email I received a call from this number. My screen said I was receiving a verification call. The man that was calling was clearly not a professional and I knew instantly that whatever was happening was fraudulent. He said he was calling in regards to my bank account, and that it was now a suspended account. I wasted his time for a minute speaking slowly and asking which bank account because I have several. He hung up pretty fast. I'm definitely concerned about this though. I called State Farm and the email was legitimate. So I have no idea how he intercepted the link I pressed to view my bill. Be careful out there folks. It's getting bad. Oh and why is robokiller not getting this right? Says it's "allowed"? "Positive user reputation" This is insane.

I was passing a security process to log into my Paypal account but it asks me to confirm through a phone call verification in which they asked me to press 1. After this, they came on the phone, and told me that i needed a computer to get an item refunded so I logged into my computer and they gave me a website to follow. Which I did bc I thought it was legit but after they took control of my laptop I cancelled everything. Luckily, damage wasn’t done as I almost got scammed. Usually I am good at pinpointing scammers but this time around bc they seemed legit through Paypal, I almost fell for it.

I believe my email was hacked. As I clicked on a legit email from PayPal to claim money I won online, I entered my email on PayPal and then it asked for my phone. I recently claimed another win thru PayPal, but wasn't asked for phone number. Then a message popped up that said "we are calling you, please answer" When I answered, it immediately said "you have authorized a payment of $156" Then a man came on the line and said he was from PayPal and I was hacked and started asking for my information. While this was happening, I was able to pull the PayPal phone number and compare it to this incoming number, they did not match. This man wasn't really professional, so I did not give out my information and said that I'm going to call PayPal myself. He insisted he was PayPal and tried to keep me on the phone. I called PayPal and he was the hacker. I filed a fraud complaint with this phone number.

Pop up while trying to log into a credit card account. To verity my account, requested I provide my phone number to receive a verification code. I thought strange, never happened before. Received call on my phone, asking me to hit 1 for verification code. Did as requested, I heard a sound like bubble, or someone recording message like you sometimes hear. No one responded after doing so, waited a very short time, frustrated and suspicious this was a hoax or scam. Hung up phone to disconnect call, also turned off my computer to further protect my private information, which I never save to my computer. Call very suspicious, number is a hoax or sometime of scam or means to tap into my personal information. Waiting to see if anything come out of this issue.

Went to install turbotax, screen came up and asked to accept a call from this. They said intuit account had been compromised. Wanted me to login to my bank account on the computer that was up. There was a charge that they needed to block. TOTAL SCAM
