I continue to get calls - from a county I’ve never heard of and an inmate I can’t understand - robo call asks for $9.99. I hung up. Now i receive relentless calls - 7 today. The voicemail it leaves cuts off. When I call the number it’s a recording telling me Securus is a provider of phone services for inmates in various jails and my loved one is trying to contact me ... it gives 3 options. The first 2 involve me providing my CC number - NOT HAPPENING or press 3 for more information about the inmate that’s attempting to make contact ... imagine my surprise when I hit 3 only to have the fraudulent recording tell me that they could not provide info ... and to press 1 for their automated customer service ... ummm ... the earlier prompts already told me that pressing 1 authorizes $9.99 charge to my phone bill. FRAUD. I have no loved one in prison and if I did, they’re in for a reason and can use one of those little jail pencils and write a letter and use $.59 at commissary for an envelope and stamp ... nothing they need to tell me is urgent or worth $9.99. FRAUD
