My mother received multiple unsolicited calls from the phone numbers 252-693-0875 and 336-979-1175, both leaving nearly identical voicemails claiming to be from “Lakeview Funding.”
One voicemail stated: “Hello and happy Thursday, this is Jordan Ellis with Lakeview Funding… your pre-approval for up to $15,000 with same-day funding is about to expire tomorrow… final window…” and provided a callback number: 877-670-2074.
A second voicemail used a nearly identical script, stating: “Good afternoon, this is Jordan Ellis with Lakeview Funding… your pre-approval for up to $15,000 with same-day funding is still available…” and asked for a callback at 877-607-0658, also referencing a holiday greeting.
No loan application was ever submitted by us. These messages use urgency and incentives to pressure a response.
I returned one of the calls from a blocked number to verify legitimacy. The caller asked for personal and financial information that a legitimate lender should already have if this were a real pre-approval. When questioned, the caller abruptly hung up.
The use of multiple phone numbers with nearly identical scripts strongly suggests number spoofing and a coordinated scam attempt to collect sensitive personal and financial information.
I am reporting these numbers to help prevent others from being targeted.
