The caller knew my name and that I recently cancelled my subscription to the N&O newspaper. He offered upgraded service at a reduced subscription price so sounded like a “legitimate” telemarking call and not a scam. I simply told him I no longer wanted to subscribe, and he thanked me and hung up. He did seem to be using a poor quality calling system that was difficult to hear.
