I blocked 866-201-0856 on 10-24-24 after they left voice mail offering me a student loan, but somehow, they left voicemail again On 10-28-24! They also said to call them to opt out or email them at nelnet.studentaid.gov. I figured both of these suggestions were just ways to get my information since everyone at my house is beyond school age. Therefore, I began my research and found warnings from various sites about this number that it is a scam.

Student loan scammerzzz calling from overseas with South Asian (likely India) accent! I never had any student loans and graduated from college 30+ years ago, and this scammer was asking for my Social Security Number!!! BEWARE!!!
