Scammer has called twice within the last two weeks. First time provided names of several employees ... including some former employees ... and was able to get my extension, which was used the second time to try to call me directly. Voice mail claims it's in regards to our Verizon Business account. Caller is very courteous, professional, and has no accent. Making it harder to tell its not legitimate. However, in calling Verizon Business support directly, I've confirmed it's not them. I already knew that unsolicited calls from Verizon were extremely rare but the fact it came from an 865 number instead of a tollfree number was the next tip-off. The legitimate Verizon rep confirmed that the number was not one of theirs and that any outgoing number would be 1-800 or another toll-free variation (like 1-866 instead).

Spoke to a girl named Summer & she claimed they had a Verizon business support specialist to introduce us to for any business account related questions. She wanted to give me their information (George) and wanted to schedule a time to have him call us. The moment I mentioned we have had an account support liason from the beginning when opening our account through a shared vendor, she quickly changed her tone and said she'd update her system & promptly hung up.
