What is this scam? How do I determine if this is a scam?

While many debt collection calls are legitimate, scammers also use debt collection calls. They may call about a phony or old debt and try to scare you into paying. Debt collection scammers often want immediate payment. These robocallers may also request a method a legitimate collection agency would never use -- debt collection scammers often push for gift cards or wire transfer.

hmmm, this may be a valid ford motor credit call, but the recording tells you to call them back at a different number (common scammer tactic) and the robotic voice sounds very similar to the thousands of india scammers who robo-dial you with hundreds of fake scam messages. as with all recordings claiming to be banks and credit cards, the safest action is to phone the company back at their official number that is printed on credit cards or on the company's website. never trust the caller id number or the number that an automated recording tells you to call!!!!!!!!!
