The name of the company was cut off only showing ersky plan and the email said, "hi" right in the center of the page. Going on to say what follows: Bill invoice Return email address blocked out of course, then reads as follows: Hi For $199.00 that they are pleased to inform me they have to charge me for additional coverage due to the increasing number of computer threats that people are reporting everyday. It had to be charged to my credit card so (exact phrasing) government spying on real people, to monitoring you broadband provider to get you virus in the laptop of your home. We kindly advise you that using your computer without our protection will leaves you vulnerablas to the virusis. We will be charged $199 to your authorized account and will appear on your permission given account in 8 hours. If you have any questions call 1-818-493-1722 give refirence number MS1209-2367-2935 Of course the number is invalid and goes directly to a funky busy signal. I have checked all of my bank cards since receiving this email on March 10, 2022 @ 8:23am closed those account numbers and requested new ones. The fraud department of several of my accounts wanted me to leave them active to monitor them for awhile, but no charges ever occurred on any of the accounts being monitored. As for the others the were closed immediately so I had know way of knowing if they tried or not. I've gotten quite a few very similar types of weird invoice emails, but have never, to my knowledge, been charged for anything. It's probably a phishing exhibition they are after by leaving a phone number that is only good for so many days along with an invoice tag number attached to see how many people bite. Hopefully this is more known than unknown to most of our vulnerable population as it's wiped out many elderly folks of their life savings. I'm hoping this helps as many people as possible by adding as much information as I can before they change their game. M.S. from CA
