Called about fraud charges. Scam.

I just finished making a purchase online with my card, and this call immediately came through. The voice mail message said I needed to call back to avoid possible difficulties using the card. Fishy. Was it a coincidence that I just used the card, or is the vendor/payment service in on the scam?
