I looked up the number after my phone flagged it as scam the first time while telling me it was chase. they called me again two days later (and was blocked again). so I'm assuming it's the same scam mentioned by everyone else.

They're still using this number, which shows on caller ID as Chase. It just happened to me within the past three hours on July 29, 2025.

"Chase" has tried to call me multiple times now. They insisted there was some fraudulent activity on my account regarding a Zelle/Venmo transaction. Interesting, seeing as how I don't have an account with Chase. When I asked them to tell me my name, they said, and I quote, "How the f&*^ do I know?" Nice try scammers, but not today...

Same scam as reported on July 16 2025. They told me the exact same story about 2 zelle transactions. One for $1200 dollars and the other for $800, initiated by someone named Tamika Raymond. I almost got scammed but my bank blocked the transactions. The gentleman wanted to stay on the phone to wait until I called my bank to request the transaction go thru. That didn't sound right so I hung up and he called me back 2 more times. Be careful this was sophisticated and I almost lost money.

Has this been reported to Chase Bank in Elgin or the FTC? I've received multiple calls from this number recently and if the scammers are mirroring the phone number of a legitimate bank, or if there's an employee who's using this number to commit fraud, this needs to be escalated to the FTC as soon as possible.

Received a call from this number, which shows up as “Chase Bank.” I later learned that this number is associated with a Chase branch in Elgin. Woman from Chase said that they were verifying two Zelle payments from someone named Susan Hunter, in the amounts of $1200 and $800. When we said we didn’t make them, they gave us a “case number” and two “Cancellation codes,” then they transferred us to Zelle, where we spoke to a gentleman who told us we needed to add as a contact someone from the FDIC with the name of Elsa Rodriguez. Then we were supposed to input the case number, which happened to be a nine digit phone number. At which point we realized it was a very elaborate scam, and we hung up, but we had already been on the phone for 15 minutes with the scammers and can see how someone could fall for this. Scary. I hope they get caught.
