I have been getting the same scam call for years and their company still hasn’t “shut down!” Slow go! They have many different numbers and same tired story! I mostly don’t answer and immediately block the #. Never fall for the “empty” voicemail! If they get you on the line who knows what they could do.

As already reported. " calling from refund department please don't hang up. You have paid for your computer technical support a few months ago. We are calling to refund your money as our company has been ordered to close down. Please call us back at our toll free number 844-640-0874.". I didn't even know what company they were referring to but I didn't pay any company for technical support ever.

The number called from was 844-649-1648. I wasn't home at the time but that's what my caller ID says. The message I heard began at " calling from refund department please don't hang up. You have paid for your computer technical support a few months ago. We are calling to refund your money as our company has been ordered to close down. Please call us back at our toll free number 844-640-0874.". I didn't even know what company they were referring to but I didn't pay any company for technical support ever. So it's confirmed from others that this is a scan. And according to this website we can install Robokiller from our app store and have these Robocalls blocked automatically! Makes me wonder could this be an advertising scam? (Joking!)

They did not identify the company that allegedly is closing down, but stated that I am due a refund! Here's a thought for this tired MoFo - if I paid for it, then send the refund back the same way. And, go get a real job when you're done.

When telephone carriers stop allowing calls with SPOOFED CALLER ID through, these calls will cease. There was no spoofing on copper wire (POTS lines) back in the 80's & 90's. Only when "VOIP" service was developed did this technical loophole rear its ugly head. Today's telecom carriers are in on this scam. They make money routing the calls. These billion-dollar corporations have the technology to filter out caller-id spoofing and prevent these calls from ever reaching you. But they don't. They often don't even take the small expense to provide a CNAME lookup, and only provide you with a city and state on the caller id, instead of a company or individual's name. That's irresponsible. I want to see the TRUE Caller ID of every call that terminates on my premises, or the country of origin at the very least (i.e. "INDIA") so I can take appropriate measures to block these calls with my own hardware/software. It's time to boycott all ISP's and telephone carriers who permit falsified caller id. STOP SPOOFING NOW!

I know I have not had business with them. I have not called back the number back. Most likely they want my CC information complete with security number from the Back so they can empty my account !!! I was born at night but not last night !!!

They called about 5 minutes are 10 minutes apart and left two messages that only gave their phone number. Their robocall must talk right over my outgoing message before my telephone started recording. I checked the phone number 1844 - 640 - 0874 on the internet

I caption phone calls and every time I get these calls, it's always "company has been ordered to shut down few months ago" or something to that effect. Gotta accurately reproduce the mangled English in these scam calls on these old people's phone caption screens to tip them off that they're about to get screwed by somebody in Bangladesh, India, or wherever! Also love those "your Microsoft license has been compromised by suspicious activity from several countries" calls.
