Scam call. Claiming to be calling from United Healthcare and he could help me with prescription medication refill. When I answered the phone I could tell it was a call center of some kind because of the long pause in coming on the line and foreign accent. Asked for me but I did not confirm my name and asked what it was about. I told him I take care of all my prescriptions and healthcare needs on line and did not need any help from them. I then hung up. Definitely a SCAM call.

This Filipino scammer also pretends to be fake fundraisers collecting for various charities, pretends to be a fake loan company or debt collector, runs an auto insurance scam, impersonates Allstate, Farmers, State Farm, offering fake car or home warranties, pretends to be AT&T DirecTV, or pretends to be interested in buying your home or property for cash. This is a massive widespread identity theft, health insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare healthcare scam by Puta'ng Ina Ka criminals calling from the Philippines using thousands of different spoofed phone numbers and mainly preying on seniors to steal your credit card number, Medicare and Social Security numbers, and personal information to commit Medicare fraud and identity theft under the pretense of saying that they will help you obtain health insurance, Medicare supplement plans, Social Security disability benefits, funeral burial expense or life insurance. There are thousands of these scams where they pretend to be fake debt collectors threatening you for debts that you do not owe, offer to lower the interest rate on credit cards or a fake student loan that you do not have, offer you a fake home equity loan based on a request that you did not inquire about, consolidate all your credit cards and debts at 0% interest, or give you an unsecured $100,000 line of credit. This call may begin with a huge variety of pre-recorded messages generated using text-to-speech translation software to disguise the origin of this Philippines scam. This scammer uses hundreds of fake company names, says your first name to try to gain your trust, and may falsely tell you that they previously mailed you a loan application or that you had previously applied for their loan. The scammer tells you that because of your good credit history, he can offer you lower interest rates on personal and business loans. He asks for your SSN "for verification purposes" and asks for your credit card or bank account number "so they can deposit your (fake) loan". Or the scammer says that to prove your credibility, you must first buy a prepaid gift card and give him the card number and PIN code. This number just now called my cell phone & did not leave a message, a legit caller would have done so. That's why I got rid of my home phone, I got tired of the phone ringing & an immediate hang-up when the voicemail recording kicked on.
