State Farm Home Insurance - a computer generated voice giving an automated public service announcement with information about preventing residential pipes from freezing. The toll free number was given for further alert information. Call Originating from ‪(833) 998-8866 Transcript: ‬"This is an important message from State Farm. You may be affected by freezing weather in your area. It's important for you to know that pipes and attics, crawl spaces and outside walls are all subject to freezing and bursting. Please listen carefully to these frozen pipe prevention tips to help protect your family and home. Keep garage doors closed. If there are water supply lines in the garage, seal openings. Allow a trickle of hot and cold water from your faucets overnight. Open cabinet doors to allow heat to get to piping under sinks and vanities near exterior walls. Keep your thermostat set at the same temperature, at least 55° F or warmer, during both day and night. Disconnect garden hoses to outside faucet. Ask a friend or neighbor to check your home if you're away. If your water pipes have already burst, turn off the water at the main shut off valve for the home, please. For information on how to file a claim text the word claim to 62789 to receive a link or you can visit StateFarm.com, use our State Farm mobile app or call your State Farm agent. If you have questions about this message please call 8773040560."

NOT spam. I thought it was at first, but I am a State Farm customer and decided to listen to the whole message to see if it passed the smell test. It simply provided details about protecting pipes to prevent home damage, adding that plumbing repairs are typically in high demand and can be quite delayed after such a sudden hard freeze event. I don’t recall but I believe it also mentioned safe use of space heaters and generators.
