I recently received a text supposedly from my Credit Union reporting possible fraudulent activity on account ending XXXX, and I was to have Evelyn (who's Evelyn????) call 1-833-763-2027 and reference case #Blah Blah Blah...etc. A reverse phone check revealed that it's a known (toll free) number used by scam artists - they can be calling from anywhere because they aren't held to any physical location like those phone numbers that are normally associated with exchange codes within each state.
