My mother just received an e-mail supposedly from Wells Fargo that urged her to call this number if she had not made a certain $84 purchase. Worryingly, the e-mail included the last four digits of her credit card, but that could have been obtained in one of numerous data breaches. I forwarded it to the phishing department. The e-mail address looked legit (probably spoofed).

This phone number was included in an email I received that appeared to be from Wells Fargo. I became suspicious when this number was not listed on Wells Fargo’s website. WF notified me that it is a phishing scam. Apparently they are able to “spoof” (change using phishing tools) the email header to make it appear to be from WF. If you receive an email with this phone number forward it to the WF phishing report email included in a previous comment here.

Received an e-mail from "Wells Fargo Fraud Detection" It listed recent transactions on my CC and this phone number 1-833-233-9887 to call, as well as, a link to verify Transactions are authorized> When I contacted my bank they said I did not have an open case and to forward the e-mail to Reportphish@WellsFargo.com

I received this call at my main phone number, exactly the same message in the transcript on this page. I do not have or ever had a Wells Fargo account. I have had the same phone number since I can remember.
