You tried again bro, I'll give you credit for perseverance. The scammer left a message that even had the last 4 of my card number on it. I'm suspicious about any ORNL call after they almost got me 2 years ago. No real bank employee will ask for you online Username. I wish you guys would get a job and stop wasting my time!

I got a call from this number and it said "ORNL" on Caller ID. However... I have never done business with this company. I answered the phone anyway. Some dude with a thick Indian accent and poor English says he is ORNL Credit Union and told me that they noticed suspicious activity on my account. Red flags and alarms immediately go off in my head - Foreign caller? (check!) Talking nonsense shyt about an account that I do not have and a bank that I do not use? (check!) The scammer immediately becomes evasive when I ask for details about my account number and what "suspicious activity" they found? (check!) He refused to tell me my account number but insisted that I tell him my account number instead. When I then told him 12 random digits as a fake account number, he also did not realize that the account number that I told him was fake (hah! counterscamming the scammers!!!!) He then asked me, "For verification purposes, what is your online banking username and password?" At this point, I knew that was a 100% total SCAM. I gave him a fake username and password (again, I never bank at ORNL anyway). Since he disturbed me on my nice sunny Sunday morning, I decided to toy with him for another 15 minutes before he shouted profanities at me and I laughed and told him rude stuff about his mother. Moral of my story: If you are an ORNL customer, this may be a valid call, or your call could still be this same Indian scammer spoofing the fake Caller ID number. If you are not a ORNL customer and wondered why you got a call, welp, that is why they call it "phishing" - scammers robo-dial thousands of numbers and they hope to phish for gullible targets. And always remember this: scammers can spoof a fake Caller ID name and number faster than you can change your underwear. I am still amazed at the number of people who claim that a scam call is valid just because the Caller ID display looks legitimate, or if the scammer says your name. Marketing databases with millions of phone numbers associated with names and addresses are easily available for both legitimate businesses and scammers to use. Just because a caller knows your name, address, or names of relatives means absolutely nothing since scammers easily obtain that information to make the call sound legit and robo-dialing software can be configured to automatically say your name in their recording.

Recorded message saying it is ORNL fraud division and that fraudulent activity is detected on your account. I checked my statement and there is no fraudulent spending. I think this is a phishing scam as ORNL's main website states that there are already phishing scams known to them at time of writing. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

I received two calls from this number at my workplace, I answered and no one says anything. I called the number back and a recording says "Thank you for calling ORNL fraud department". ORNL is a company near my workplace but the area code does not match.
