Robo call claiming to be social security. There’s always a threat and scare tactic with this call. I’ve heard this recording before. What a shame these scammers can do business like that. Imagine an elderly person believing it?

Beginning of voice mail cut off, "... in Investigation Department. We need to talk to you as soon as possible. Again this call is from Social Security Administration. THe number to reach the department is 800-607-8910. I repeat it 800-607-8910. Thank you."

Got a call with a recording stating there was fraud on my social number. I called back on a different phone number. The called was picked up and I said "Hello" and then the call got disconnected.

Got a call from this number, they left a formal sounding voicemail. When I returned the call, I was told that it was from the Social Security Administration. That someone in Texas had been using my SOC to "commit crimes". And could I please provide my SOC for verification. I said NO. They operator then said they could forward the info to the police and the cops could detain me for questioning and keep me in custody for up to 7 days. I said I was ok with that and the operator promptly hung up. Do not be fooled/ scared or allowed to be cornered.
