It's from CBV what they do is buy ancient debt past collection status then call and harass you. This is the key DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE DEBT, this resets the clock. They pay maybe say 4k for 5000 files all past collection statute. Then they call, threaten with legal language to get you to admit and when you do your debt now becomes payable in full to them. Then they offer you a deal , normally around 1/2 to 1/3 the debt as a "resolution" all they have to do is collect on 30% of the file and then they are making pure profit. Also they will call multiple times a day from many different numbers as a way to circumvent harassment laws.
