Lately, I've been getting text messages from Verizon to verify an attempted log in to my account. Then the phone call came from the 775-777-1717 announced as Verizon Agent - I could tell immediately that it was not Verizon. I asked if it was important that I was busy, he said yes in broken English - then he proceeds to call me by a name I haven't used/had in 40 years and definitely not tied to my Verizon account of 21 years, so I knew immediately. I hung up. He attempted to call me back twice, so I blocked the number. Somehow there has been a leak of information and they are using wrong names, etc. -

They called and said I ordered 3 Apple Watches to different address. I replied I’m not sure about that but you have called the extra small or micro penis suicide prevention and awareness hotline. He laughed and started talking to a buddy in Spanish about what I said. I replied in Spanish ahh you prefer to speak in Spanish? He then hung up.

Just like most other comments, caller id says “Verizon Agent” caller said he was from the fraud department of Verizon checking on a purchase of two iPhones and an address change out of state. When I said they were not valid, he used my name (I had not introduced myself) and said at this time he would flag my account for investigation and I would need to secure my account. I cut him off there and said I would need to call Verizon back myself as you never secure your account with someone who called YOU. he said I should call back so to get this taken care of. Verizon had no record of the call, any purchase or address change attempt, or any fraud notice. Looked up the number it said it was from and it is a legit Verizon store’s number, meaning this guy is spoofing from that number.

Scam. They have a legit Verizon code sent to you so you can tell them what it is & have them take over the account. Do not give them any code. Verizon always calls from their legit customer service line, not an authorized retailer unless you specifically did business with them & they will never ask you for that information over the phone.

Lady called saying she was Verizon, it was not. She wanted to on notifications on my account, and verify purchases I made in a state I’m not in. When I said I’ll turn on the notifications myself through the app, she said let me get the security department on the line and hung up. When I googled the number, it’s a Verizon authorized reseller in AZ or NV.
