Apparently they push an auto scam to get people to pay for some kind of BS discount warranty plan

Scam

This is a total scam!!! They convinced me that they were the "underwriters" for car warranties. I spoke to an Ashley Porter, Jackie, and ultimately, Torrence Barry. I repeatedly told them that I did not want to do anything until I spoke with my husband and with the Toyota dealership. They kept me on the phone for over an hour. I know I should have hung up, but they gave me all the information about my car - VIN#, dates I took it in for servicing, etc. I thought they were legit. I mistakenly agreed to put a $100 deposit on a "discounted warranty plan". I called the dealership this morning and they told me it was a scam and that they probably got my car information from "Carfax". I immediately called the company back and asked to speak to Torrence. I was told he was in a meeting (surprise, surprise). I told the guy I wanted my money back. He told me I had to talk with Torrence and that he may not be able to call me back until next week. I told him that I knew they were a scam and that I wanted my money back. He told me I had given them "verbal" permission to put $100 "down payment". After arguing with this jerk, I hung up and called FCC. They advised me to call my bank right away to dispute the charge, then to call FTC to file a formal complaint. I have done all of that and will wait to see if my bank can get my money back. I'm a senior citizen, and that $100 makes a big difference.
