What is this scam? How do I determine if this is a scam?

Phone surveys are often legitimate -- universities and other polling organizations use robocalls to reach a large segment of the population. Legitimate survey calls typically do not want any of your personal information beyond broad demographic information. Some survey calls are scams. Surveys callers that want detailed personal information or offer a prize for putting down a smaller deposit are probably not legitimate. Avoid giving away detailed personal information or providing a payment to take a survey.

I've gotten at least five phone calls from this number today. This started late into last week and the caller has never left a message. I called back and the automated message says "You have reached the campaign voicemail."

This number has now called me 6 times in a week and they leave no message.

November 11, 2019

Caller Name: "Oakboro, NC"

The name on the caller ID was "Oakboro, NC" and we all know that's probably bull-shit. Didn't leave a message and as soon as the message machine started hung up.
