On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 9:00am ET, a woman called from 866-233-2148, saying she was from United Healthcare, and asked for my info to verify my identity. I said I wasn't just going to give my identity info to a stranger who called me. She got another "branch", Member Services, to get on the phone to "verify" themselves. This man asked me if my number was 602-607-2361. It is not. As they put me on hold to verify themselves again, I hung up. The man called back at 9:12am ET from 602-834-0886. I think he said his name was David with Member Services. He had my birthdate and address. (He could've looked me up online.) He put me back with the woman. I told her I looked up their phone number and saw nothing directly associating their number with United Healthcare, but with scam suspicions. I told her I would report them to United Healthcare, and then I hung up.

Called pretending to be united health

The woman identified herself as an agent with United Healthcare wanting to speak to my husband and I then identified myself as his wife and confirmed our address. She asked to speak to him and he is hearing impaired. I notified her that I am his medical POA and that United Healthcare has this documentation. She told me that she is a with a government agency for insurance and that she did not have access to that information but she told me that I needed to hold on the line so that she could contact member services to confirm this. After a hold she came back on the line and asked me to bear with her she's getting them on the line. She came back a second time and told me that member services could not confirm this as they have no POA on file for my husband. I knew she was BSing me because I speak with his home line nurse and personal agent on a weekly basis. I told her to get her shit straight and stop harassing him and then I hung up the phone.

On phone with them now. Lady caller. Claiming from United Health. Wanting to help with extra benefits, help with grocery cleaning such things. Also saying my Medicare is needing renewed. Gave me another number for a form or something. 1-866-427-1873. Will comment again after I call United Health.

The female caller said she was from United Health Care; began the conversation warning that it was being recorded. Requested personal information. I declined. Jotted down their number (602) 834-0886. United Health Care confirmed it was NOT any of their numbers.
