Job Scam Call I am writing to formally report a suspicious unsolicited call I received, which I believe to be a fraudulent "phishing" attempt impersonating a legitimate staffing agency. Incident Details: Caller ID: (425) 332-1160 Date/Time: Feb 26, 2026, at 8:29 AM (PST) Caller Name/Persona: Claimed to be "Mangesh," a technical recruiter. Impersonated Entity: "Dexian" (Caller claimed to be from this company). Target's Name: The caller addressed me as "Joe," which is not my name, indicating a random "cold call" list. Description of Suspicious Activity: The caller, a male with a heavy Indian accent, left a voicemail claiming to have a "fabulous opportunity" and asked if I was "looking out for change." Reason for Reporting (Red Flags): Unsolicited Contact ("Fishing Expedition"): I have never applied for a position with this agency, nor is my resume active in their system under the name they used. Illogical Business Practice: In the current competitive job market, legitimate recruiters do not aggressively cold-call individuals who have not applied for specific roles. This behavior is inconsistent with professional recruitment standards. Pattern of Fraud: This fits the profile of a classic employment scam where fraudsters use the name of a legitimate company (Dexian) to lower the victim's guard. The intent appears to be "phishing" for sensitive personal information (PII) under the guise of a job interview. Malicious Intent: I suspect this is a prelude to identity theft, financial fraud (credit card scams), or extortion schemes often associated with fake job offers. Action Requested: Please investigate this number and the individuals operating behind it. I urge you to flag this number as "High Risk / Scam" to prevent them from victimizing other job seekers who may be desperate for employment. Sincerely, C
