Have had two different stories from this number within 4 hours but wanted to transfer me to CFPB which from what I can tell doesn't even handle this type of issue. I did not let it go that far before I ended the calls.

Caller claimed to be from Chase (and this number is a Chase branch but not their fraud dept.) Said there had been several attempts to open new Chase accts. Had correct Soc. Sec. number !! Then "transferred" to supposed Experian (although speaker sounded the same). Tried to say all accounts would be closed; but emphasis seemed more on interest rate than the supposed fraud reported in 1st 1/2 of call. They seemed to have alarming amt of info, so not sure what more they could be trying to get. Possibly a really scammy way of selling credit "cram down" svc but it means they accessed SS number somehow. (Strongly considering locking credit reports.)

Tried to tell me that someone opened a Chase credit card in my name from another state and then wanted me to agree that I would allow them to access my credit report to try and see how my information was stolen. SCAM
