This is a valid survey from the CDC. Don't freak out thinking it is a scam, folks ;-) Learn to google all unknown phone numbers and you can look like a genius. Googling 312-871-4241 immediately pops up the CDC's webpage that says: "Have you been called by 312-871-4241, 312-871-4242, or 312-871-4243 (Caller ID CDC NATL IMMUN) about the National Immunization Surveys (NIS), including the NIS-Child, NIS-Teen, or NIS-Child Influenza Module (NIS-CIM)? Please be assured that you were contacted about a survey sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The NIS-Child, NIS-Teen, and NIS-CIM are conducted for CDC by NORC at the University of Chicago" So calls from 312-871-4241, 312-871-4242, or 312-871-4243 are all legit. However... scammers, especially from India and the Philippines, spoof hundreds of thousands of fake Caller ID names and numbers everyday. So unsolicited callers with foreign accents are all likely scams. But the call that I received from this 312-871-4241 was a friendly American voice. As with all surveys, if you are not comfortable with any of their questions, you can decline to answer or just give a fake response. It's that simple.
