Money was NEVER owed. Period. A Breville Joule Air Fryer was paid off 4 months early, per a 12-months, 0% financing arrangement with Best Buy Citicard. There was absolutely NO prior balance owed on the Citicard. Well above the minimum monthly finance payment was always submitted, then a balloon payment of approximately $110 was submitted on the eighth month,, which had gotten the balance satisfied in its entirely, per the contract. I had contacted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau - aka - the U.S. Government in charge of protecting the consumer. I had filed a complaint - chronologically annotated with documented prima facie, indisputable hard evidence that the balance was satisfactory paid off in a timely manner, with them, as well. Devoid of a legitimate reason nor response, they did send me a single response, stating that the case was closed (against myself). Essentially, they are the fox guarding the henhouse. Best Buy Citicard then felt additionally empowered by the CFPB. One month after picking up the small Breville Joule Air Fryer, Citicard started accruing totally unwarranted false and unjust late fee penalties and interest levied against myself, which eventually amounted to approximately four + times the initial cost of the sale price of the air fryer, which was $439.93. I had adamantly refused to pay these unjust charges. Ironically, in retrospect, I should/could have purchased the air fryer unit cash on the barrelhead. My FICO score had subsequently plummeted over 250 points in the next few months from a near perfect score, which not long before, had been 850 for 11 of 12 calendar months, then inexplicably, 838 for one of those 12 calendar months. I had written to the 3 major credit reporting Bureaus and had appended a 'ton' of documented evidence which unequivocally points to the fact that I was 100% in the right with ALL of my assertions, but they too, totally ignored the facts, went completely against myself, the truth and the cold hard facts, then sided with Best Buy Citicard instead. I had made many calls to Best Buy Citicard during the inception of this unnecessary unwarranted BS, in order to properly correct this matter, as $0.00 was owed, but they just didn't care, and tried to run roughshod over me. They had sold this account to Portfolio Recovery Services, and they call and write letters incessantly. I believe that even if they could view the truth with their own eyes, they still wouldn't care. They still want to harass me in order to shake me down for monies that are NOT owed. Invariably, shysters protect shysters. That's the 'Bottom Line'.
