Confirming more of the same. He told me that two Zelle transactions were made by me, one for $2K, one for $500, both to the same Melissa Baker person. Nothing on my app so I hung up. They called back, giving me transaction numbers, trying to transfer me to the Zelle department, which of course is comical. I told them I will call Chase directly. They told me to google this phone number, which, of course brought me here.

Got a call from this number. Some guy whose connection was breaking in and out, telling me that a gentleman named Juan Rodriguez in California opened up a new Chase checking account in my name in California. I knew this was a scam but calmly played along until he realized that I was playing with him and he hung up. They spoofed the real Chase number, which is pretty insane.

Got a call in spanish asking for me by my full gtovernment name. After I said "I dont speak spanish" they hung up. The number is registered to Chase Bank on Columbus circle. The fraudsters are getting really sneaky. Becareful!

A man called me on 9/4/25, claiming to be from Chase, and asked if I had sent a $2000 Zelle transaction, which I don't have. However, he spoke Spanish, which I do know. I just hung up. He called back, but I declined the call. Did not leave a voicemail.

He literally just called. "Hey this is Chase calling to verify a payment made to Zelle for $900" "Yehhh don't have Chase." "Oh it's for a Zelle that was sent to Capital One. Is it you?" "WTF. You askin' all these questions and you don't want to verify who you're speaking to? Are you ok? "Yeh you're right" Hangs Up!! They're not even trying to properly scam, literally just doing anything at this point

I got the call stating someone attempted to open checking in ca though I’m in another state and two charges for 2k … I stopped him and said I was calling chase and he said fine and hung up. Chase confirmed it was a fraud

Black or White person probably both. Not the fukin point. Do not answer ant call that is unfamiliar to you. If the caller does not leave a message it is a scam. Only use Zelle with people close to you (family) and it is even better if they are Chase account owners. Forget Vennmo paypal etc. Use Chase credit card and pay balance every month. You have more protection with a Chase credit card than a Chase debit card. Chase is definitely compromised. The caller is calling from a #associated with a chase branch @ 160 Columbus Ave in NYC. Chase has been spoofed.

Scam - person called pretending to be from chase bank claiming two Zelle transactions had been made. As soon as I said “those are not in my account” they hung up. Block!

Since some people are bringing up skin color, I just received a call from a White person claiming they are from Chase. They claimed my account was being used for Zelle activity, so I told them I will call my Bank directly to resolve the issue.

SCAM! Like others are saying, if you get a call from this number, it is probably a scam. I had the same experience as other people in this thread. If you are concerned, you should hang up the phone, and reach out to a Chase customer service rep at https://www.chase.com/

I received a call yesterday from someone claiming to be from Chase Bank. He stated someone used my phone number through Zelle and opened a CHASE checking account…. (My BS Antenna was activated). I asked the caller how they could open a checking account with only my phone number and he stated they also used other information. I asked him what other information and he said My Name, date of birth and Social Security number. I then asked him what name they used and the caller hung up. TOTAL SCAM!!!

Claimed two Zelle transactions. I don’t have an activated chase account. English wasn’t proper and unprofessional. When asked about legitimacy he said to google the number he was calling from. Total scam.

Black man called. Yes, I realize I didn't actually see him. He informed me that an account with Chase was opened up in my name. He confirmed two email accounts, old emails, neither active. He told me two Zelle payments were made. I questioned this as I asked how two payments could be made if I never made a deposit. He said they can access different accounts. I questioned this. I told him that I couldn't hear him. He didn't like me. He was over all of my questions. The line disconnected. The End.

Called to "confirm" fraudulent payments. The number said "CHASE" so I stupidly initially trusted it and continued speaking for like two minutes, but then I got suspicious and Googled the phone number (212-579-4847) and realized it's a scam so I hung up.
