This is a fraudulent insurance‑impersonation scam in which callers pretend to represent companies such as Allstate, Farmers, Liberty Mutual, or State Farm. The callers use spoofed numbers and often operate from overseas call centers. Their goal is to obtain your credit card number, Social Security number, date of birth, address, and other personal information for identity theft. The scammers frequently address you by name to make the call sound personal, but they are using automated dialing systems to contact large numbers of people. After establishing rapport, they steer the conversation toward collecting sensitive financial and identifying information. This same group is also associated with large‑scale identity theft, health‑insurance scams, and Medicare fraud, often targeting older adults. They may claim they can help you obtain health insurance, Medicare supplement plans, or life insurance, but their real intent is to steal personal information and commit financial fraud.
