Guy called and said he was with GAP Holdings which had bought out American Income Life. Gave a partial license number 21331234 (talking too fast for me to write it down). Laughed and said that he was kind of chunky, so not to make fun of him if I looked him up. Said we may have been overcharged by American Income Life and he wanted to be sure we got reimbursed. He listed two policy numbers (again, talking too fast for me to write them down). Said they had sent a letter in the mail about it. Wanted to confirm our mailing address and my husband's birthdate. I told him I was uncomfortable providing any information over the phone, as I didn't know him from Adam. He offered to send me a copy of his business card and I told him that anyone can make up business cards. I told him to send the letter that supposedly was originally sent, to us again and I would reach out at that time. He did have our correct address and my husband's birthdate. Not sure if this was a legitimate call or not. Couldn't find a GAP Holdings in online search, at least as it seemed to relate to health insurance.
